PRIVACY POLICY FOR POOCHO
Effective Date: June 2026
Last Updated: June 2026
At Poocho, operated by Mohammad Badruddin, we are committed to protecting the privacy, security, and integrity of our users' data. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, store, utilize, and protect personal information within the Poocho mobile application. By using this application, you explicitly consent to the data practices described herein.
1. Information Collection and Explicit Purpose
User Profiles: We collect basic registration details (such as names, email addresses, and phone numbers via OTP verification) solely to establish secure user accounts, authenticate identity, prevent automated bot attacks, and deliver a personalized, high-quality user experience.
Scholar (Mufti) Verification Credentials: To maintain the utmost sanctity and academic integrity of the platform, Islamic scholars (Muftis) are required to submit verifiable academic credentials, identification documents, and background details. The exclusive purpose of this data collection is rigorous vetting—ensuring that unqualified individuals cannot misrepresent themselves, thereby guaranteeing that users receive only authentic, reliable, and verified religious knowledge.
2. Data Retention, Security, and Third-Party Sharing Policy
Strict Commercial Prohibition: We maintain a strict zero-commercial-sharing policy. We do not sell, rent, trade, lease, or disclose your personal data, queries, or analytical information to any third-party companies, marketing agencies, or external brokers.
Legal & Government Compliance: We operate under the law of the land. We reserve the right to cooperate with official government authorities, law enforcement agencies, or judicial bodies. Personal details may be disclosed only when legally mandated by a valid subpoena, court order, warrant, or statutory law enforcement requirement.
Data Security Measures: We implement industry-standard encryption protocols (including secure Firebase infrastructure and Firestore Security Rules) to protect against unauthorized data breach, alteration, or data theft.
3. User Data Rights, Account Deletion, and Support-Assisted Removal
In-App Account Deletion: In compliance with international digital safety mandates and app store policies, users retain the absolute right to delete their accounts at any time. A dedicated "Delete Account" button is provided directly within the application settings. Upon triggering this feature, your account will be instantly deactivated, and your personal credentials will be queued for permanent purging.
Support-Assisted Data Deletion: If a user prefers, or is unable to access the app, they can directly contact our official support team at any time. Upon receiving a valid request via our support channels, we will manually verify the identity and permanently delete the user's entire profile, historical records, and associated data from our active Firebase databases.
Data Purge Timeline: Once an account deletion is initiated (either via the in-app button or through support contact), all personal identifiable information, linked phone numbers, and private drafts will be permanently and irreversibly purged from our servers within a standard operational window, except where specific data retention is legally mandated by governing law.
Right to Suspend and Blacklist: The management reserves the absolute right to permanently ban, freeze, or suspend any user or scholar account found violating our community guidelines, spreading social discord (Fitnah), or attempting identity impersonation. This action may be taken without any prior warning, and the platform reserves the right to retain necessary identification tokens (such as phone numbers or email hashes) strictly to prevent the violator from creating new accounts, with no options for data recovery.
4. Children’s Privacy Protection Clause
Strict Age Limitation: Poocho does not knowingly collect, solicit, or maintain personal identifiable information from individuals under the age of 13. The platform is designed for a general audience capable of engaging in mature academic and religious queries.
Remedial Action: If we discover or are notified by a parent or legal guardian that a child under the age of 13 has created an account or provided personal details, we will take immediate, unilateral action to purge that data from our Firebase servers and terminate the associated account permanently.
